Why do you want to create a blog? There are several reasons you want to create a blog. First you want to bring in more traffic to your blog and in some case you may also want to make some money from your blog. Blogging probably wont make you wealthy overnight but if you do it right, you will produce some income for yourself.
Blogs are popular and are becoming even more popular, so if you haven't got one then you are probably missing out on all those readers that would be interested in your subject. Internet users love blogs and when they find one that they really like then they keep coming back. The search engines also like those blogs. They realize that it's the blogs that have the most current information, and information that is always changing too.
The first thing you need to do is decide on which blogging platform you are going to use. There are two good ones called WordPress and Blogger, and each has its advantages. Both let you create a blog without having to create a whole website. Deciding on which is best is really up to you. The great thing is that if you don't like one, you can always change your information over to the other one.
Figure out what you are interested in and blog about that. Choosing the platform is just the first step, but the most important step is figuring out what you want to blog about. You need to keep your blog in keeping with something that you are passionate about. This will keep you working on your blog throughout the years and keep you interested in up keeping it.
Bloggers that are passionate and love their hobbie and their field love to exchange information with their readers, and want to continually interact with their readers for years to come. When you choose to blog about subjects that you have no real interest in, then you lose interest and your blog loses readers.

You need to be well known among other bloggers and you need to have all the information that others are looking for.
Remember getting the blog up is just the start so you cant just put it up and expect it to work itself. The work comes when you have to start putting good content up on that blog. Content that includes pictures, and information about the topic you have chosen. This is your own daily, weekly or bi weekly report of what goes on in regard to your topic.
Learn to Increase Traffic - putting up a blog is actually the easy part. You will need to learn how to increase traffic to you blog. You will need to learn what makes you stand out among other bloggers, If you don't learn how to increase your traffic then you will be just as bad as all those static web sites. And learning how to increase traffic takes time, learning about new tools, reading as much information as you can find, implementing new techniques, etc.
